Where do we begin?
We'll start with a free 15-minute consultation phone call. I’ll ask you to share just briefly what brings you to therapy. Then I will tell you a bit about my way of working and answer any questions you may have based on what I have shared, or maybe just about the process of therapy and what to expect in general.
After that, if you feel like we are a good fit, I will share the information for you to book your first session, virtual or in-person depending on your preference.
Note: given my work in the perinatal space, babies are always welcome in session - virtually in Ontario and in-person in Kitchener-Waterloo. -
What can I expect in a first session?
In our first session, I will go over the consent forms you signed and give you a sense of what working together might look like. There will be time and space to ask any questions you might have.
Then it’s my job to be curious! Of course we will never get to everything in just one session, though to start I will ask you about what brought you to therapy and about your life presently and in general. Before we finish our first session, we’ll co-create some goals for our time working together. If it is helpful, I can offer you tools or strategies to use in-between sessions. -
What is your cancellation policy?
I kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment for virtual sessions, and 48 hours’ notice for in-person sessions at Encompass. This allows me to offer the spot to someone on my waitlist and helps me maintain a sustainable practice. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed entirely, will be charged the full session fee. That said, I understand that unexpected things come up - especially in seasons of parenting and caregiving. I offer a one-time grace for a late cancellation, and will always take genuine emergencies into account with care and understanding.

What are your areas of specialty?
My specialty is in helping individuals in the perinatal stages - from family building and fertility, to pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and early parenting. This work is deeply personal to me and I am incredibly passionate about helping people in these nuanced and tender seasons of life.
I also have a special focus on helping folks navigate and process trauma related to the perinatal period and parenting, like attachment or birth trauma. You can visit my ‘About Me’ page to see more about my additional certifications and qualifications. -
How often should I come to therapy?
To start, I often recommend weekly or bi-weekly sessions. This helps us build a strong foundation and momentum in our work together while giving space for changes to begin integrating. If/when it feels right for you, we can adjust session frequency.
I recognize that certain life stages, circumstances, finances, and goals all shape how often therapy fits into your life, and I’ll gladly accommodate your preferred frequency from the start and throughout the course of our work.
Therapy continues only as long as it feels helpful to you. We’ll check in regularly about how things are going, and you’re free to pause or end at any time. If I ever need to end our work together, I will provide referrals or help connect you with another therapist or service.ere

What are your fees? Are you covered by insurance?
Sessions are $160/50 minutes or $220/80 minutes. Sliding scale spots are available upon request, though are currently full. If you are in need of low cost perinatal therapy, I am happy to provide referrals.
Many insurance plans cover Registered Psychotherapist services, but coverage can vary by individual plan. It’s best to check with your provider to confirm your specific plan's coverage for Psychotherapy. I will provide a receipt after every session, which you can use to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. If you are with Medavie Blue Cross I offer direct billing. RP services in Ontario are also tax deductible if you are eligible for the medical expense tax credit.
